PLANNING
Tailored for the most demanding operational environments, the H225LP helicopter integrates all the latest technological innovations. The two Turbomeca MAKILA 2A1 engines, the main gear box and the 5-blade rotor system give this aircraft the power for a high payload, a long range and a fast cruise speed, along with flight endurance that exceeds 5 hours and 30 minutes. This next generation aircraft effectively and efficiently executes multiple proven successful roles in contingency/expeditionary operations moving passengers and cargo, SAR/MEDEVAC/CASEVAC/PR, utility and firefighting, and tactical training in land and sea based austere environments around the world. Additionally, it is equipped with an external cargo hook for loads transported by long line or sling as well as an external hoist for Part 133 Class D operations (carriage of persons).
DESIGN
As the undisputed leader in its class, the Airbus AStar outperforms all other single-engine helicopters for performance, versatility, low maintenance, and low acquisition costs while excelling in high, hot, and extreme environments. It is a member of Airbus’ Ecureuil family, which has accumulated more than 33 million flight hours worldwide. Built and certified in the United States, this aircraft offers fast cruise speeds, 4 hours and 30 minutes flight endurance, and longer engine Time Between Overhauls. It is characterized by high performance, enhanced maneuverability, and reduced pilot workload. The A-Star is the preferred rotary-wing aircraft for aerial work in high and hot conditions, private & business aviation, public services and commercial passengers transport. Additionally, it is equipped with an external cargo hook for loads transported by long line or sling.
